Kolumba was born to a Makua mother and Matumbi Father in Dar es Salaam on 5th May 1976. He has studied both Primary and Secondary school in Dar es Salaam. He has specialised on Electricity studies. Kolumba speaks even English which is rare among the Tingatinga artists. Kolumba came to Tingatinga Cooperative through football. The Cooperative has invited him into Tingatinga football club where he played several months before he was asked to paint. Kolumba lives in Msasani with his wife and two children. He would like to stronger management at the Cooperative with sales, IT managers, translators etc.
